Having learned several genres of traditional Japanese music, such as Nagauta and Kiyomoto, he played the Kiyomoto shamisen for the Kabuki Theater and the Nihon Buyō. He is developing a new teaching method for beginners in Japanese instruments, based on improvisation and usable for each school (ryūha). Doctorate in musicology (Tokyo University of the Arts).
